Hints and Tips
The Chill Factor
To get the best bubbles, be sure to use the coldest water possible. Store the carbonating bottles filled with fresh, filtered water in the refrigerator so they are ready to go when you are. Simple syrup can keep in the refrigerator for up to one month. Make a big batch so you can whip up drinks at any time.
To Each Their Own
You decide how much fizz you want in your drink. Some prefer water with their bubbles, while others prefer bubbles to dominate the water -- you be the judge. The more times you press, the more bubbles are being forced into your water.
Beverage Variety
Make your morning fizz by adding some carbonated water to freshly squeezed orange or grapefruit juice. For a sweet finish, try out a root beer or cola float. For the after 5 o'clock crowd, let the Cuisinart Sparkling Beverage Maker be a fixture on your bar at home. From fizzy mojitos to big bowls of spritzy wine punches, carbonated cocktails make a statement.

Desired Carbonation
A pump is a two-second burst of pressure on the handle, leaving a few seconds in between each burst. To achieve an average level of carbonation, three pumps are recommended. To get a stronger carbonation level, simply pump again to add more CO2.

Cuisinart/Primo......another customer rip off!!
I bought the Cuisinart because I knew that the original Primo line could be used with CO2 paintball tanks that you could refill a lot cheaper than exchanging the proprietary tanks from Sodastream. Well, now that the Cuisinart purchase has gone through, Cuisinart is following in the same footsteps as Sodastream! They redesigned the system, and you can only use their proprietary CO2 tanks....the reviewer here is correct when she said "teeny tiny"! Their tiny tank is only 3oz! It states that you can use any size Cuisinart CO2 tank, but they only have the 3oz tank available right now and the cost is a whopping $20....and they only give you a single 1L bottle! Really?!! They also sell extra bottles for $6 but make you spend another $3 to buy the cap for the bottle.....are you kidding me!! The other reviewer here said that he is using a 24oz tank in his system, but he must be using one of the original Primo units that was still available before the purchase went through because I couldn't...

Not What You Want...Here's Why...And What You Do Want
As my title states, this is not the item you want. . .and I'm going to not only tell you why. . . but I'm going to tell you which item you DO want. . . which is SodaStream.
SodaStream is exactly the same thing as this item. . . but. . . the difference is the CO2. Cuisinart comes with one very small (expensive to replace) CO2 cartridge, which it says is supposed to carbonate up to 16 bottles. The key here is "up to" because it all depends upon how carbonated you like your water. Certainly to get 16 bottles out of it, you're going to use the least amount of carbonation possible. The beauty of this item, as well as SodaStream, is the ability to carbonate the water as much. . or as little as you like. Though the Cuisinart cartridges are "recyclable". . . they are not "refillable". With SodaStream, they have two sizes of cartridges.. . a 60-litre and a 130-litre. Both are WELL above the small 16-litre that Cuisinart. On top of this, you can exchange the SodaStream...
Works great! Can exchange the tank for $10.00 at BB&B.
I was shocked to see so many negative reviews on this product, so I thought I would write my first Amazon review. I have had this beverage maker for nearly two months. I don't use it for flavored soda purposes, so I can only speak to its ability to make sparkling water. I LOVE it! The machine works well, is well made, and is not too obtrusive on the counter.
Pros:
*Cuisinart is a good brand and will work with you if something goes wrong (I am speaking from an issue with a coffee maker).
*Although the tank is small, I drink about two bottles per day, and it lasts nearly a month.
*With BB&B coupons, you can save five dollars off a $20.00 purchase, so I buy a back up tank to keep at home.
*BB&B has a recycling/exchange program at their customer service desk, where if you return an empty tank, you can get a full tank for $10.00. And, use their coupons to save even more.
Now, with that said, I live by a BB&B, so This process is quick and...
