Toss out the plastic wrench
Every time I had to change the filter, I'd cringe, cuss and yell "Why is this stupid thing made of plastic? Why is the handle so short? Curse this company this wrench is useless!" I'd tug and tug, arms and back sore, until the casement would finally loosen, ... then I found this metel one.
Seriously, it's kind of pricy but if you're sick of struggling with the plastic wrench, splurge, this wrench will make the task of changing the filter a hundred, no, a million times easier.

Metal Wrench AP8
The metal wrench AP8 is a very good replacement. The extra long handle gives you more leverage to loosen the cartridge housing when changing the filter.
